X-man vs H-boy

Once before, do you think about why some students study so easily to score but you study so hard yet still achieving nothing? Don't you feel curious about how they study? Sound like u and him putting the same effort but still u couldn't beat him up.

Today I want to share to you a analysis of two students which come from a same class. One of the students is the student from Top 10 in school, let name it as X-man and the other student is an average student, and I name it H-boy.

So the analysis start with an interview between X-man and H-boy about their daily activity.

X-man: everyday i check my facebook, sometimes i play game and hang out with my friend. quite enjoy my life with fun activity and lessons.

H-boy: everyday i suffer with my study, thinking of so many topics that haven't mastered and sometimes I feel so emotional about my study and cry when i am desperate about my study.

Then, it is followed by an interview about their method about study.

X-man: Don't need to study so much as long as when you study, you really concentrate on the study. I don't usually study but I study according to the schedule and I focus on doing exercise. A right answering question and study technique is far more important than just study.

H-boy: Hardworking is the key to success. So I have to take all my time to study, study and study. I study repeatedly for certain topics to make sure I can understand it fully. I don't do much exercise because I am always lack of time to do it as I think that I have to understand completely first before I do. So I usually didn't manage to do a lot of exercise.

Next, it is followed by an interview about their mindset about study.

X-man: I want to get the highest for my certain subjects. Study is easy, to me, what I study, I learn quickly and I just to do some revision to enforce my study. A test is like a game, see what strategy u use to strike!

H-boy: Hopefully I can get an average score for all the subjects. Pass is my minimum requirement. Study is suffering, it takes away all my happiness and my time. But still, I will strike hard to get through all these blocks and hopefully score 4.0 at the end.

At last, the differences are determined. So, what do you think about study? X-man or H-boy?

No matter what do you think about it, the most important is starting from today to think like a professional student and be a professional student.

Be focus and ready

My dear friends, exam is getting nearer.

What you can do now is focus on revision with your eyes and heart. Tell yourself and countdown the date, day by day, exam is getting nearer and be committed as STPM only once in life. At least aim for minimum average 3.65 to make sure you can enter your ideal university.

Everyday, early in the morning, 6.00am, you can wake up half an hour earlier to have a look through on what teacher will teach today. In school, in the period interval waiting for teacher, you can steal some time to revise what have teacher taught during the last lesson to make sure you understand what teacher teaching. While teacher teaches, you should also do small notes to jot down the main ideas for learning because in this moment, the concept can be easily digested and learned. Sometimes, students think that it is not important to listen for the lesson, and in the end, they have to pay double effort on it in home to understand it fully. It is not only time-wasting but it is also not guaranty that you will understand fully too. After teacher finish teaching the topics, past-year exercise is important. You must do more past-year exercise to make sure you have mastered the topics. At night, you should start to revise what teacher have taught in the morning, and start preparing yourself for your exam but not sitting in front of TV.

My dear friends, please be prepared and focus on your study every minute, every moment as you don't have much time. Lastly, be focus and don't be distracted. Thanks you.

150 more days countdown

My dear friends, STPM is coming closer and closer.

What have I seen from you all is kinda relax and enjoy life.

Hey friends, what you left for now is only 150 more days. What you should do is start preparing your exam, STPM seriously. Very soon, you will be taking your trials exam perhaps in August or September and YOU ARE GOING TO SUFFER in STPM if you still play play for now!.

These are some tips of study for you:

1.There is no time for anything else, like playing games, sports, movies, musics but STUDY. Make sure you put all the distraction away and be enthusiasm towards your STPM. Putting all your will power and remind yourself everyday, counting down the time and waste no time to study, push yourself hard to success.

2. If you are weak, don't be disappointed and down, you still can fight for it. What you get the results in your mid-year term exam just a pointer for you, to point out that what method that you have working on is not suitable, it's just a response that motivates you to change, be a better man to strive on what you want.

3. Stealing time such as 15minutes from your break time to focus on a small concept everyday. I tell you, it is efficient. And you should start identifying which topics are you weak in, and find a good friend or teacher to have a group discussion.

4. Start doing past-year! Your teacher will definitely come out questions from past-year! I am not gonna ask you to cheat but to be true, if you can do past-year, your exam sure no problems. At least 6 year past year to be done before entering the exam hall.

5. Intensive revision and exercises to be done. Do as much as you can. If you can't solve it, don't spend too much time on it, at most 10 minutes, just flip to back referring the answer and study it. It's help! You have not much time for you to spend on it. Study Smart, bear in mind.

6. Collecting trial paper from every state and have an analysis on what's the most possible question will be asked in STPM. Reading the question and do analysis only as you won't have much time to do it.

Lastly, pray hard for your exam to score high.

Results

Exam result, one of the determinant of your efforts on study. A good result usually indicates an accurate study method and what you have to do is just stick still to it and achieve 4.0 in STPM at the end. On the other hand, a bad result reflexes the insufficient efforts on study or a wronged study method that had been used.

When we get our results, we tend to compare marks. We start to compete with others, and sometimes we start to be arrogant or disappoint (due to who you compete with). If you say, competitive motives a better result, I agree but I prefer self-challenge. Setting target for yourself and do whatever you can to achieve your target such as 75marks.

One of the common lines that I usually heard when people getting their results, "Why I put so much efforts still getting so low marks?? T.T ". Then he lost all his attention on study and complained "Study so much for what, the marks still so low, don't need study better."

Sound familiar to you too? For a true case, study a lot doesn't mean you can score. You have to study smart and figure out which study method make the best for you and you just have to practice it and success will be on the right path. Every STPM candidates, Gambateh!!

Friend, to be the best!

My dear friends, in these few days,

I have attended seminar in these holiday,the speaker said to me,

'Michael, to be the best!'.

So, I learnt it and today, I want to share this word to you too.

"My friend, to be the best!".

But how? If you want to be the best, you must be extraordinary, to have breakthrough and create record for your academic performance.

To be the best, you are required to have extraordinary energy, extraordinary power and extraordinary time to do extraordinary things.

Like me, I always do more. Do more than anyone.

So, are you ready to be extraordinary and to be the best? U can do it!

Story of A 5A's student

Today i want to talk about a very very important secret recipe of one of my student who scores 5As. He comes from a school of nobody, a school without facilities and sufficient teachers, and yet he work as AIA Life Insurance's Agent when he was Lower Six and Upper Six. What's the secret recipe? I invited him to my class to have a talk for my students. Do you interest in what's he say? Only Two Word, "I Want!". Just because he wants to score 5As, so he proved it, to his family, to all his friends and to the world, "I can do it!".

A student who is not from famous school, like Jit Sin, ST. Gorgeous or Chung Ling (Penang Area), and he chose to stay back at a nobody school to take his Form 6 while most of his Form 6 friends transfer to all the famous school to study. I asked him, how he prepare for every subject since there is no teacher, and he said, "I take tuition on every subject.". Then I asked him, how he motivated himself since there are no good studying environment, he said, "I come to sir's tuition to recharge. The 5 min motivation session is so powerful for me to last for my week." (Start 'haulian').

He gets 5As just because he wants it. How about you? What do you want? Ask your inner heart seriously and sincerely.

Response to Situation

Ladies and Gentlemen, once again thanks you for back to show. Last week I had mentioned about 'Enthusiasm". Today, i want to share with you is 'How you Response to situation". A lot of people didn't realize about it, everyday first thing they do is start to complain, complain parents don't understand them, complain school teacher don't know how to teach, complain class too hot, complain exam too tough, complain here and there, non-stop complaining. Oh my God! This is the most serious yet common problem that happens everyday.

My dear friends, learn to response to the situation positively. Like me, I enjoy people scolding me. People scold me, I say "Thanks you". Why? This is a chance for you to learn, he is willing to point out your mistake. Of course I thanked him very much. And when you fail in your exam, don't give up, failing is just a part of life. You should respond to the situation and work harder, bounding back higher.

Tell you a story, I have a student studying in USM, in the last semester, she told me she had failed her exam and felt so down. Then I replied her, "So what? Everyone failed before in exam right, it is just a matter how you response back to it? To be totally defeated or Fight back?" So, last week I met her again, and I asked her how was the preparation? She said, " This time, I have confident that I can get an A." Good, we should also respond to situation positively like her.

Till the last minute, never give up, and never just say "Die la, Die la, no time liao la, ng ng ng T.T". You should response to it positively by solving it, strategize yourself to what extend that you can work on and strive a success. Never say Never. Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm is a kind of excitement of doing something.

This excitement will bring a whole day freshness to you when u are doing something u like.I think that most of you can energize yourself when doing something u really like, right?

Such as playing games, watch TV etc. So, today, i want all of you to put this kind of enthusiasm into your study.

Tell yourself from heart repeatedly, 'I enjoy study, I like study!'. Create a creed for yourself and recite it repeatedly to motivate you, recharge you everyday when you get out from your bed and be high!

Brain-racked question

Today, i just want to ask everyone a question,

what's your profession? Student, right? So, how should a professional student like?
As a student, you must do what a student do. Study like how a professional student study. You are form 6 student, a step before university and steps before engineers, doctors, lawyers and other professions. So, study like a profession to prepare yourself for your future. Therefore, i do like to urge all of you to wake up and realise who are you indeed.

Group Discussion

Do you ever make a group discussion success before or juz sit down thr and chit-chat. How big should a group discussion be? 4,8 or 10?
The answer is 2. I rather like to call it a partnership, but it is seriously effective.

Tips to make group discussion:
1. A discussion in a Q&A form shouldn't more than 30 minutes. No presentation please and be well prepared before a discussion is held.
2. Do not purposely arrange a time for a discussion. You can do it immediately after school. Time is precious, right?
3. Find a right partner who is good in certain subject. Learning is sharing. You learn while you share, and when you share, you reinforce.

So, get your Mr. Right now~ :)

Be systematic and self-organised

For some cases, people do not organize their things properly.
A messy arrangement reflects the messy of your mind and heart.
System is a key to success. A success of a company is depends on its productive system.
Google company, Microsoft company, and so do a systematic man.
So, start to self-organize and systematic yourself, perhaps u will find yourself clearer in mind.
